The Leon Levine Foundation Matching Grant
You met the challenge!
Donors to Transitions LifeCare through the 1979 Circle met and exceeded the $100,000 matching grant from The Leon Levine Foundation.
In 2022, The Leon Levine Foundation (“TLLF”) provided Transitions LifeCare (TL) with the opportunity to receive up to $100,000 in matching dollars for donors who gave to the 1979 Circle and for annual donors who gave $1,000 or more. The dollar-for-dollar match was designed to broaden the base of supporters at this level by welcoming back lapsed donors, encouraging donors to join the Circle for the first time, and challenging existing donors to increase their last annual gift to $1,000 or more.
Donors to the 1979 Circle met and exceeded the match, giving $186,399! In total, 29 lapsed donors renewed their gifts, eight donors increased their gifts to $1,000, and 47 donors gave a gift of $1,000 or more for the first time. This success was guided by James and Easter Maynard, the 2022 Champions for the 1979 Circle, TL’s Board of Directors, Dr. Laura Patel, CEO, and the Philanthropy Dept. Through their support and leadership, the 1979 Circle both attracted new donors and reactivated lapsed donors.
“We’re grateful to The Leon Levine Foundation for this unique matching grant opportunity,” said Dr. Laura Patel. “Our ability to build on the tremendous financial impact of our 1979 Circle every year is dependent on growing the number of donors and dollars raised. These funds allow us to fulfill our mission of caring for everyone who needs us, regardless of their financial status or ability to pay. We could not provide our urgently needed services without the trust and investment from our community. Thank you for your continued support and belief that the care we provide is essential to the well-being of our community.”
